THE TOWNFISH PRIVACY POLICY

This Policy is designed to show you what we do with information we receive from the best bars in London – such as yours! Please read it through because we want you to know just how we handle the information we get from you.

You should also read our Terms and Conditions – which contain the full legal do’s and don’ts. They are important.

ABOUT US

TownFish is a site owned and operated by XYZ Limited of 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX

INFORMATION WE COLLECT WHEN YOU JOIN

We will have the information you give us when you register and any other information you pass to us from time to time. Some of the information we ask for we have to have –like your name and address. Other information is optional – the more you give us the more we can help.

In addition to this, you give us permission to use the location services on your mobile device so that we can work out where you are. That means that we can supply information which is as relevant as is possibly can be.

After we’ve done that, we will then track certain information such as your IP  and email addresses to help us to help you.

INFORMATION WE TAKE FROM NON-MEMBERS

None – only when you have joined can we start to help you and until then you’re welcome to look around. We even use session cookies which expire when you leave the site.

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information you give us to locate services that we think you will find interesting. The more information you give us the more specific we can be. We pass that information only to suppliers who have registered with us and they have promised us that they will not pass it to anyone else.

If you do not want a particular piece of information to be known about you, please leave that space blank. We all have reasons for keeping things secret and we respect that right.

THE DIFFERENCE WHEN USING A MOBILE DEVICE

There is no real difference except that as you move about, we monitor your location to make sure that we are giving you the best service.

With most mobile devices you can turn the location settings off – if you don’t want us to track you.

WHAT WE CAN GET FROM THE SOCIAL NETWORKS

If you are a member of Facebook or one of the other Social Networking sites, we can obtain information from your Profile but only the information you have put on that site.

OUR CONTACT POLICY

If you get in touch with us – we’ll always answer you. If you sign up for newsletters and similar services, again we’ll contact you.

The main part of our service is to give you offers and deals which match the information you’ve given us and so we may send you details of special offers from time to time and our partners may get in touch as well.

If you don’t want to hear from us or our partners, this may not be the right service for you.

IF YOU ARE UNDER 18

Membership is not available to anyone under 18 and if you try to join and we find out, we will stop your membership immediately. We ask that you are honest with us so that we can help you – we don’t want to try to sell anything to minors we think that that would be very wrong. We know we’ve got a good site and we know that the wait to join will be worth it.

If you do try and join and we cancel your membership, we may well keep a note of your IP and email addresses to stop you registering again until you are able.
